Balans van de Leefomgeving 2016

December 1, 2016

I have just got my copy of the ‘2016 Report of the living environment’ by PBL ‘Balans van de Leefomgeving 2016’, Dutch ministry of Environment. Featuring my documentation work and cover pic! The subtitle ‘righting geven, ruimte maken’ > ’Giving direction, making space’ is very, very similar to the title of my dyptic from the Freedomland project ‘Righting geven, ruimte laten’ > ’Giving direction, leaving space’ : WHAT A COINCIDENCE!!

Circular Design Award | Amsterdam 2016| Cesare Peeren | Viisi Labs | Denis Guzzo

Proud to announce that Cèsare Peeren , head of design at Superuse Studios is the winner of Desko Circular Design Award 2016. The interiors design project for Viisi’s Head Quarter in Amsterdam is a work in progress about short-cutting urban material’s flow. I had the pleasure to report the process by following the master of crafts from the harvest of materials, during  the development of the prototypes, till the final results.

ZERO WASTE BUILDING

2016.06

CASA DELL’ARCHITETTURA | ROMA | IT

I have been invited by La Sapienza University and the Architects Board of Rome to share my experiences and views on the themes of  SuperUse and urban and landscape policies.

The seminar aims to open a discussion on how it is possible to develop strategies to shortcut material’s flows and prevent waste production in architecture through new design processes and mapping. A new concrete building in our cities means a piece of a mountain that has desapeared somewhere else. Recycling raw materials and implementing both awarness and practices are fundamental keys to reduce urbanizazion ‘s impact.

My presentation entitled: Contemporary European landscapes, from estractivism to SuperUse  illustrates a cross-section trough my projects that connects the state of the landscapes in relation with material’s flows trough urban development and architectural design.
